I am not able to tell you how much your insurances will cover or how much therapy will cost if you use your insurance because each insurance plan and company varies. If you want to know this information you will need to ask your insurances company directly. If you do not see your insurance listed, and your insurance reimburses for out-of-network providers, I can provide you with a super bill that you can send to your insurance to get reimbursed.
I do not bill insurance directly from my private practice. I use a company called SonderMind that does my billing for me. If there is ever a time you have a billing issue you will need to contact SonderMind directly: (844)256-8915 or by emailing support@sondermind.com. If you have any issues with contacting SonderMind or need additional support please feel free to notify me.
Do you take victim compensation?
Yes, I do take victim compensation. I will work with you to get all the necessary paperwork completed to submit to victim assistance.
How do I set up an appointment?
You can either call, text, or email me, and we will set up a free consultation for us to get to know each other and determine if we will be a good fit for one another.
After we have determined that we want to work together, we will schedule our first appointment.
Is there any paperwork that I will need to fill out before we meet?
Yes. I will send this paperwork to you electronically at which time you can sign and return electronically as well.
What is your cancellation policy?
I ask that my clients cancel 24 hours in advance, as other people may need that time to meet with me. If you do not cancel 24 hours in advance, then you will still be charged for the full session.
How long will therapy last and when will I feel better?
The best answer to this question is: it all depends. Trauma can have a powerful impact on people, which can take some longer to heal from than others. It’s a step-by-step process that each person journeys through, but that journey may be longer for some and shorter for others.
My goal in therapy is not to put pressure on you to get better within a certain time frame but to allow you to take as much time as you need to heal. You will notice small changes throughout the therapy process, which will help you focus on your goal of healing.
What will happen in therapy?
In the beginning, the goal of therapy is to build a trusting relationship between you and me. While we are building this relationship, I will teach you different skills that will help you cope with stress, depression, and anxiety. When you are ready, we can then process your trauma and talk about skills to help you build boundaries and learn ways to build your self-esteem.
I believe that therapy should look at individuals holistically because trauma not only affects people mentally, but it also affects them emotionally, physically, socially and spiritually. I strive to help you heal these different parts of yourself through the therapy process. I also incorporate hands-on activities, art into therapy, and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) because I believe that talk therapy alone can’t fully help everyone. I do give my clients homework because it is best to practice the skills you will learn in therapy in the real world.
Do I really need therapy?
If you have ever sought out help from others and felt that they didn’t really understand or they gave you advice that wasn’t helpful, then you could benefit from therapy with me. If you just want someone to understand you and support you and your decisions, then therapy is for you. Therapy provides you a place to feel truly heard and cared for, and a place where you can openly make the decisions for yourself. If you have gone through trauma, therapy will help because you can process through your experiences in a safe place, with a person who is trained to guide you through it.
